KickStart International has donated one moneymaker Irrigation pump to the Ghana Irrigation Development Authority. The Western African Regional Director, Mr. Alexander Nyarko Anim who donated the pump to the Authority said the pump will unlock profitable business opportunities for millions of small holder farmers across Ghana. Kick Start International manufactures, designs and promotes low- cost MoneyMaker branded irrigation pumps which offers an ideal and environmentally friendly solution to quickly enable hundreds of thousands of very poor farming families in sub - Saharan Africa to access water, grow high value crops throughout the year. In Ghana, KickStart is driving demand for irrigation by developing and working through networks of NGOs, agricultural companies, farmer cooperatives and government groups that are already engaged with hundreds or thousands of small scale farmers. The pump cost less and light weight to carry around a farm and easy to operate and does not operate on fuel or electricity. The Deputy Chief Executive (Agronomy) Mr. Samuel Dekyi was hopeful the MoneyMaker irrigation pump will be of enormous help to farmers in the various irrigation schemes as it is easy to carry and assembly and resourceful.
